Dr. Matin received his DDS degree with honors from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and his specialty certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery at University of Washington, one of the top medical centers and most prestigious programs in the country. His 4-year clinical training encompasses oral and maxillofacial pathology and reconstruction, facial trauma, corrective jaw surgery, bone grafting, oral surgery, preprosthetic surgery, dental implantology, and office based anesthesia/sedation.
In addition to regular training, he completed an Anesthesiology Fellowship at Indiana University, School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology which gave him an opportunity to develop superior background in the field of anesthesia and achieve clinical skills and knowledge for providing general anesthesia and sedation for patients of all ages to assure a safe and comfortable anesthesia experience for all his patients.
Along with his strong clinical and surgical skills and work ethic, he is fully committed to providing the highest quality care, and to continually improve the quality of life of his patients.
Dr. Matin is an affiliated attending surgeon at Harborview medical center and the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he was involved as an instructor and mentor for residents and dental students during their training.
Dr. Matin is a Diplomate of American Board of OMS, member of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons (AAOMS), American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS). He has published several articles and has given presentations at state and national meetings.
Dr. Harding grew up in a small town south of Richmond, Virginia and earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management- Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology with minors in Biology and German and a pre-dental concentration from Virginia Tech. Upon graduation, Dr. Harding was offered the Navy Health Professions Scholarship and embarked upon her dental education at the Medical University of South Carolina- College of Dental Medicine in Charleston, SC. In her third year of dental school, Dr. Harding applied to the Navy’s specialty training board and was selected to train in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Harding then completed her Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the prestigious Baylor University Medical Center / Texas A&M Health Sciences Center in Dallas, Texas. There she learned from and operated with many of the most influential Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in the country and was able to publish journal articles and a chapter in one of the cornerstone textbooks of our specialty.
Upon graduation from residency, Dr. Harding was stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman CVN 75 where she deployed to the Mediterranean and the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In that time, she was the only oral surgeon in the 5th Fleet and therefore was responsible for treating any trauma, disease, injury or pathology above (and sometimes below!) the collar bones.
After a successful tour and deployment on board the USS Harry S. Truman, Dr. Harding was stationed in Virginia at Sewell’s Point Branch Dental Clinic and Portsmouth Naval Hospital. In an attempt to “join the Navy, see the world,” Dr. Harding excitedly accepted follow on orders to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and served the remainder of her service with 1st Dental Battalion and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton treating Marines and Sailors and helping them to be ready at a moment’s notice. After 12 years of service, Dr. Harding was honorably discharged from the United States Navy.
Dr. Harding enjoys tending to her avocado and coffee farm and chasing after her two young sons: Shepherd and Rivers with her husband. She is excited to embark upon the civilian life and to continue her passion in treating patients who become friends and family.
Dr. Chang graduated #1 in his class at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry with highest honors in academics and leadership. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine where he went on to complete his internship in General Surgery and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Out of over 220 applicants only 3 doctors, including Dr. Chang, were selected for entry into L.S.U.’s prestigious Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program in 1991. During his residency, Dr. Chang received extensive training in the field of reconstructive and cosmetic facial surgery.
Dr. Chang is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is currently licensed by the California Board of Dental Examiners and the Medical Board of California. Click here to view Dr. Chang’s awards and certificates. Dr. Chang retired from surgery in 2018.
